Bishop Fava asks that the Missionaries write new constitutions with each article voted on individually. Father Archier is elected superior General.
Pope Leo XIII invited bishop Fava and Father Henri Berthier to seek Vatican approval for the Constitutions.
Fathers Archier, Buissan, Henri Berthier, Jean Berthier, Perrin and Chapuy are the first to take first perpetual vows. The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette assume responsibility for the Norway mission for ten-year duration. April 18: the institute is canonically approved by Rome. On April 20thand 21st our Lady of La Salette is crowned and the basilica is consecrated.

Father Efren Musngi propsed the plan for the recruitment of candidates from India. At the Council of the Congregation in Switzerland in July 1978 the plan was accepted and it was entrusted to the Philippine Vice province.
Fathers Orlando Sapuay and William Slight conducted the first vocation compaign in Kerala India. Mathew manjaly and Augustine Cheerakathil arrives in the Philippines as the first candidates for the missionaries of Our Lady of La salette.
Fr. Rutiillio mallilin recruites three candidates from India – Andrews Kollannoor, Jose Kuzhinjalil and Jose Punnakunnel .
The Philippines attain provincial status. Antisirabe becomes a province. Fr. Bill Slight recruites two candidates from India Job Callarackal and Joy Chukkananickal.
Renewed and updated after Vatican II the constitutions are approved by Rome.
Fr.Efren Tomas recurites four candidates from India – Thomas Vellappilly, William Kaliayadan, Jacob Vettathu and James poovathingal.
Two Provinces in Madagascar merge into one. May 31: Fr. Jose Kuzhinjalil from India, trained in the Philippines, open the mission in Vamanapuram, Trivandrum, Kerala (India). A week after the opening of the mission in Vamanapuram, Father Jose Punnakunnel joined the mission in India.
Alex Valummel, Jolly Ayyamkolil and Daison Areeparambil joined La Salette. June: Beginning of the minor seminary formation with nine students at B.L.M. Aloor, Irinjalakuda, Kerala by Fr Jose Punnakunnel. Father Andrews Kollannoor joined the mission in India.

The frist La Salette house, named La Salette Bhavan at Parakkadavu, was inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Dr. James Pazhayattil.
The 150th anniversary of the Apparition of Our Lady at La Salette. A year of celebration throughout the world. Theological Studies for La Salette Missionaries begins in India.
The second house of La salette India was inaugurated and named La Salette Sadhan – mainly for the philosophical studies.

The third house of La Salette missionaries, La Salette Nikethan, was inaugurated by Superior General Isidro Perrin, MS.Postulancy program begins in India.

La Salette Community in India raised into the status of a Region named La Salette Matha region. Fr. Mathew Manjaly became its first Regional Superior. Novitiate Program begins in India. All levels of formation are done here in India.
Council of the Congregation was held in Bangalore,India. (April 7-20). Blessing of New House in Bangalore. Aug. 31 - La Sadhan, Bangalore was raised as Regional House.

Opened an education center La Salette Vidya Nikethan for the poor village children in Hunsur, Mysore.

The fourth house of La Salette Missionaries, La Salette Ashram, Kayakunnu, Kerala was blessed (a house for retreat and perpetual adoration). Second Regional Chapter - January 5-12. Fr Mathew Manjaly was re-elected as Regional Superior.

La Salette Matha Region is elevated to Status of Province.
